The ugly truth about passive income—99% of people won’t tell you this
Passive income 💸. The internet’s favorite bedtime story for broke dreamers. Imagine this: you wake up, roll out of bed, check your phone, and BOOM—money just magically appears in your bank account. Effortless. Stress-free. Pure bliss.
Sound sexy? Too bad it’s a complete lie.
And trust me, I would know—I spent way too much money on a guy who promised to teach me “the secret formula” for building passive income. Spoiler alert: the only thing that became “passive” was my will to live after realizing I got scammed.
But here’s the difference between falling for the hype and actually building a business that pays you while you sleep—you need a real web presence and a strategy that actually works.
My tragic (and completely avoidable) course seller story
So, there I was, scrolling through Instagram, when I saw him.
You know the type—flawless beard, shiny Rolex, standing in front of a rented Lamborghini, promising me the key to financial freedom. “Make 10K a month on autopilot,” he said. “No experience needed,” he said. “Just buy my course for a limited-time discount of €997,” he said.
Now, did I think, hmm, this seems sketchy?
No.
Did I instead whip out my credit card faster than a crypto bro saying “this is NOT financial advice?”
Yes.
The course? Oh, it was gold. First, a 45-minute video of him pacing in his penthouse, rambling about “mindset.” Then, a slide deck from 2016 explaining drop shipping (yes, the business model that died years ago). Finally, a 20-minute video where he casually mentions that the real secrets are in his “advanced program” for another €5,000.
At that moment, I knew I had just financed his next fake Rolex.
What “passive” actually looks like
Here’s the truth no guru wants to tell you: passive income isn’t passive at the start. It’s built. It’s earned. And if you think you can skip the work, you’re already setting yourself up to fail.
People love flexing their “I made 10K in my sleep” posts. What they don’t show? The years of struggle it took to get there. Let’s break this down:
✅ Building the product: Digital templates, courses, whatever—you can’t just throw together junk and expect people to buy it. Creating something valuable takes real effort.
✅ Testing, tweaking, and fixing: Your first version? Probably garbage. Prepare to improve it.
✅ Marketing the hell out of it: “Build it and they will come” is a lie. If no one sees your product, it doesn’t matter how good it is.
✅ Building trust: People buy from people they trust. If you haven’t been showing up, don’t expect sales to magically roll in.
And the biggest thing? Your online presence matters.
If people can’t find you, they won’t buy from you. That’s why your business needs a legit website, a strong brand, and an optimized funnel that actually turns visitors into customers.
So, when does it become passive?
AFTER you’ve done the hard work. AFTER you’ve built the systems. AFTER you’ve optimized everything so you’re not constantly grinding.
Until then? You’re still in the trenches.
Most people give up before they ever see results—don’t be like them. The ones who stick it out, adjust, and stay consistent? They’re the ones who wake up one day to real passive income. 💸
If you’re just starting out…
Don’t fall for the “overnight success” scam. Success is slow before it’s fast.
Keep building. Keep iterating. Keep showing up.
And most importantly—make sure your business is actually set up for success.
Because let’s be real: you can keep winging it, posting random links, and hoping for sales... or you can build something that actually works.
A sloppy website, zero SEO, and no marketing strategy? That’s not a business, that’s a digital graveyard.
At Allroundwebsite, we don’t sell dreams—we build them. But hey, you could always keep watching those "make 10K in your sleep" TikToks or Instagram reels and see how that works out. 💀
Your call.
